Singapore, 7 November 2014 – ERA Realty Pte Ltd (ERA), Singapore’s largest real estate agency’s big commitment in giving back to the community will see Canossaville Children’s Home benefitting in a big way – over $78,000 will be received by the Home, a non-profit organisation that offers residential care to children from family situations that put them at risk. The Home also has an Integrated Student Care Centre which takes in children who are hearing impaired and who are dyslexic.“Supporting the community in which we are a part of is integral in ERA’s corporate initiatives. When we saw the incredible works done by Canossaville Children’s Home, we were moved by how its programmes were helping to transform the lives of children. Children whose family situations were putting them at risk. We wanted to honour the Home’s commitment and good works through our donation,” said Mr Jack Chua, CEO, ERA Realty Pte Ltd.
ERA, a Platinum award contributor of the Community Chest, was inspired by the Care and Share movement propounded by the Community Chest. The movement, now a national drive will see all donations matched dollar-for-dollar by the Government till 31st December this year.
When the company held its quarterly Managers’ Day on 5th November to award its Top Achievers, it decided to get creative. The evening’s programme encompassed an inaugural talent challenge – ERA’s Got Talent. Guests and ERA’s salespersons rallied to purchase garlands ranging from $10, $50 and $100 in support of their teammates on stage. All monies collected were pledged to Canossaville Children’s Home.
“It was heart-warming to see how ERA stepped up and matched dollar-for-dollar as donations were pouring in during their lively talent challenge,” said Suzana Yeo, Executive Director, Canossaville Children’s Home, “the sum collected will go a long way to help the Home nurture the children in a safe environment and enable and empower them to live good and productive lives. Ultimately we hope they will be able to contribute positively to society.”
ERA remains committed to making contributions to initiatives in the community and supporting programmes and non-profit organisations in its year-round efforts to make a difference in the community and society.
